Kara Rysavy is in her fifth season as the conductor of the Cantabile Singers, and in her second year with the Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota. Ms. Rysavy is the 7-12 vocal music director for the Albany School District. She earned her undergraduate vocal performance and education degrees from the College of St. Benedict/St. John's University and she received her Masters of Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University. Ms. Rysavy began her own choral experience as a fourth grader in a choir program very similar to Cantabile, in her hometown of Dubuque, Iowa. She knew at a very early age that she wanted to have a career making music with students. In her free time, Ms. Rysavy enjoys spending time with her three boys and dog, doing yoga, and reading.
